Smart Home 2.0 is the name of my blog, and means my second major iteration at doing a smart home.
Since the late 90's early 2k I have had a smart home utilizing the X10 protocol, X10 was fun but had major downfalls. Enough about X10 unless it makes a comeback in the new age of better tech. So I have recently started Designing and building out my new smart home. Smart Home 2.0 utilizing newer technologies like Zigbee, Z-wave, WIFI, Blue tooth, RF all with voice control.
This list has been broken up into 2 major categories Hardware & Software. UPDATE 3/25/2017 I have already had to split the Hardware and Software into 2 pages. This is page #1 Hardware. In the major categories there are minor categories by brand. This currently is a partial list and I will keep updating as new Equipment is tested and put into production. This list will also include where it was purchased and the price If you have questions please ask. Also be sure to subscribe to my blog, and check out the post and other pages Like image archive or videos.
I just started writing this blog 03/24/217 and I have already split this page into 2 pages and have decided to redesign these page's with sub-categories. Including Home Theater, Lighting, Security, Automation, Etc... Coming soon.....

Funny Story Thought I was buying a Philips Hue GO. If It would have really been less then the marked clearance price. When I got up to the register, they said NO it is $79.99. Even after I pointed out to them that it was actually on the website for less not on clearance. Then I noticed that the box had been open and it was a returned Item. So I got it for $39.99, when I got home and opened it. It was a bloom it was a return, but it works so I am keeping it. Kind of a score.
But a lesson to be learned here from my experiences at Home depot and there clearance Items. Always look up what you are buying to check the price and also make sure it is compatible with your system. I recently thought I score spent $300.00 on all clearance Items from a local Home Depot. Only to find out later when i got home and looked it all up to see what I saved not only I didn't save any money. I paid more then i could have gotten it off there website and had it shipped to my house. It still would have been paying to much but at least it would have been $75.00 less then I paid that day. So I returned it all the next day and ordered the same items online with free shipping and it cost me a little under $200.00
